Smart marketing is in creating a united force in marketing. Even if there are silos within the sectors, when you have one voice out there speaking one message, the many voices sung in unison will hymn the same tune, the same lyrics. I’ve personally experienced this and am a big believer of synergistic marketing efforts. It’ll be impossible to get everyone to buy into the same thinking unless we have key opinion leaders all saying the same thing in unison. I take a good example from a charity dinner I attended recently. There were 6 speeches. And each one rang the same message despite the fact that the speakers were from diverse backgrounds, each fighting for a different cause. At the end of the evening, I returned home with a strong recollection of the reinforced message of each individual speaker. And I just needed one word to sum it up. Effective communication is planned communication!
